Finally!

I think today is the first day I actually believe that spring has arrived. We've had such a dull and chilly spring so far, today is sunny and may actually reach the 70s, yea!

I found this cute little item on eBay, it's one of those stamps that they use to make the designs on batik fabrics. I go crazy over batiks and would really like to see the process done in person someday. I'd love to have a whole row of these little guys tromping across a shelf in my sewing room, Elephants represent good luck, right?

Current Reading (Whoa, not quilt books!); Just finished The Man Called Cash by Steve Turner and just started Skeleton Man by Tony Hillerman. The Cash book will be well traveled, my son sent it from California and I'm sending it on to my Dad in Florida, then he'll be sending it back to Michigan so my daughter can read it after she's done with this semester and has time to read!

So many projects....

I finally finished the quilt top from last year's $5 block class! Not my favorite project, for some reason I have a hard time trying to figure out how to put sampler blocks together. I don't want to do just sashing, but I don't want it to be too fussy, either. I get my best quilt pics outside, but the wind was not cooperating, so this will have to do. You get the idea, anyway. I'll probably leave this top for future generations to quilt.

Next up is my Court House Steps top, I saw something similar somewhere and really wanted to make one. I don't usually like bright colors much, but I think they work well in this project.

I still have a pretty big pile of UFOs, I'm really making an effort to get them finished, just in case I don't live forever! I have a lot of respect for people who decide not to buy any more fabric or start any new projects until the old ones are finished and actually follow through with it, I just can't stick to that, I get too bored I guess.
